Now that we’ve officially entered spring, a lot of us are starting to tackle that age-old philosophy of spring cleaning. The spring season is pretty universally considered to be a season of renewal – of positive change and new life. This can feel especially true after a harsh winter. Spring cleaning was born out of this idea, as it makes it the perfect time to get rid of the old so you can start fresh and new.

While a lot of times this means the actual act of cleaning your home and keeping things tidy, it can apply to all kinds of ideas – cleaning out your closet, cleaning up your diet, cleaning out your storage unit and so on. Naturally, after winter is the perfect time to clean and care for your car too. So, we’ve got a few spring car care tips to help guide all of you Maserati owners towards making sure your car is in tip-top shape for the new season and moving into the rest of the year.

What should I have checked in my Maserati?

You probably keep your Maserati clean year round, but spring cleaning is the perfect time to really get in and detail the whole vehicle, making it the cleats it can possibly be. You can watch the video below for a walkthrough of how to detail the interior of your Maserati, as Ryan from Detail King does just that to a GranTurismo. But there’s much more to spring car care than just the actual, physical act of cleaning. There are a few different aspects of your vehicle that you should check up on to make sure they’re working the way they should. This will make sure you’re completing your spring car care to the best of your abilities.

First and foremost, you should probably go ahead and replace your windshield wipers. Since it’s recommended that you change your windshield wipers every six to 12 months, right after winter is the perfect time to do that. After months of build up from snow and ice, your wiper blades have likely gone through the ringer. While you’re replacing your wiper blades, you might as well top off all of the different fluids under the hood as well – including wiper fluid, brake fluid, coolant and more. Check out this list for a few other ideas:

  • Check your tire pressure
  • Check your tire tread
  • Check your air filters, both cabin and engine
  • Check your battery
  • Schedule an oil change if necessary and get a multi-point inspection
